During Vision Night 2005, we announced a new initiative to add additional facility space so that we could continue to make a difference in the lives of more people. The initiative was called “Lakeside…The Next Chapter – 4 The Future.”  

We had undertaken three previous facility expansion projects and this was the fourth and the most ambitious. We were more than doubling the square footage of our current facility so that we could handle the current number of people and ministries, but so that we could impact more and more people in the future. Thus we named the project “4 The Future.”  This initiative was not only about adding more square footage to our current facility but it was also about adding new ways of doing ministry so that we could reach a wider demographic of people.  

On November 24, 2007 we opened this brand new facility addition which included a complete renovation of the current facility. This expansion has allowed us to grow but has also allowed us to add new and exciting ministry opportunities.

The cost of this new initiative was over five million dollars, which for many of us seemed like such a large number and we were wondering how we might fund such a great initiative even though we knew that it was the right thing to do. Through the sacrificial generosity of so many people we were able to raise almost 2.6 million dollars and we were also able to secure a low interest private loan that has lots of flexibility to it. But each dollar we continue to pay in interest is a dollar that we could be spending on doing ministry that makes a difference. So it is our goal to pay down this mortgage as soon as possible.
