Alpha

New to the Christian faith? New to Lakeside? Looking for something more? The Alpha Course is a great opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith.

While it is designed especially for those wanting to investigate the Christian faith for the first time, it is also great for those new to the faith, or for those who want a refresher on the essentials.
It consists of a 10-week series of 15 talks addressing key issues relating to the Christian faith. Part way through the course there is the Alpha retreat.

The course provides an upbeat, friendly and safe environment for you to ask your questions, no matter what they are. Each one of us is on a journey through life and at Alpha we help one another as we discuss life’s bigger issues.

The Institute

The Institute will be comprised of three 10-session courses that will be offered on Tuesday nights alongside Alpha.

This 10-session course will provide a thorough understanding of the core theological beliefs of Christianity and why we believe them. 

It is a great course for those who want a more in depth look at key biblical concepts like the inspiration of scripture, the existence of God, the trinity, who Jesus was (his birth, life, death and resurrection), salvation, the church, the problem with evil and suffering, what makes Christianity different than some of the other religions, and the return of Christ. 

But it is also a great course for those who want to know WHAT they believe but also WHY they believe it, helping to equip them to provide solid answers to skeptics and seekers in their relational world.  

It is taught by Pastor Dave Ralph and will include interactive opportunities for questions and answers and discussion.

We will start with a meal at 6:30 p.m., followed by large group teaching and some small group interaction.

The Marriage Course

 A resource for couples to help make struggling marriages better and good marriages great.

The Marriage Course is for any married couple who wants to build strong foundations for a healthy marriage that will last a lifetime.

It's a great opportunity to spend time together as a couple and look at the important issues in your relationship.

Each week you are given the opportunity to enjoy a special meal together and listen to a talk. Then there is plenty of time to discuss the topic as a couple. There is no group work involved at any stage of the course.
