Building Strong Foundations for Youth and Kids
At Lakeside, we believe that faith starts at home, and we’re here to support, equip, and walk alongside families every step of the way.
Family Ministries is all about building strong spiritual foundations for kids and youth, while empowering parents and caregivers to nurture faith in everyday life. Whether your child is just taking their first steps or navigating the teenage years, we want to create a community where they are known, loved, and encouraged to grow in their relationship with Jesus.
From engaging Sunday morning environments for all kids and youthto midweek gatherings and events for teens, our goal is to help every child and student discover the hope, joy, and purpose found in following Jesus.
What We're Talking About Right Now in Family Ministries
Grades 1-5

This January, our Grades 1–5 kids will explore the story of Daniel and his friends, discovering how God was at work in their lives in powerful and surprising ways. Through these stories, children will learn that faith isn’t just something we believe — it’s something we live out each day. As they follow Daniel’s journey, kids will be encouraged to trust that God can do far more than we can imagine, to notice God at work in the world around them, and to make faithful choices even when those choices are difficult. Throughout the month, children will also explore what it means to honour God as the King of Kings, putting their love for Him into action in practical and meaningful ways.
Preschoolers & JK/SK

Youth Grades 6-12

This January, our youth will explore what it means to truly listen to God and respond to His voice in their everyday lives. Through the stories of the prophets, Mary, the birth of Jesus, and the shepherds, students will learn how God speaks, why listening matters, and how hearing from God shapes our purpose, identity, and understanding of His love. Youth will be encouraged to create space for quiet and attentiveness, to recognize that God speaks in different ways, and to understand that listening to God isn’t just for the past — it’s how we discern His heart for us and for others today. As the month unfolds, students will also be challenged to consider how listening to God leads to action, giving them a message of hope and truth to share with the world around them.
