Overview: To carry out maintenance and repairs of the Lakeside building and property, supporting a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment for ministry activities and community rentals.
Responsibilities:
1. Building Systems:
Program and adjust HVAC operating systems to accommodate ministry activities, rentals, and other facility users.
Perform and document preventative maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and building systems according to the maintenance schedule.
Complete scheduled testing and maintenance of fire protection, security, emergency, water supply, and waste systems. (Obtain Small Drinking Water System certification within six months of hire.)
Respond to security system alarms and related service calls.
2. Custodial:
Help maintain the overall condition of the church's facilities by completing preventative maintenance, repairs, painting, and occasional cleaning or touch-up work as needed.
Manage waste disposal and recycling programs.
Procure all custodial supplies, periodically evaluating lower cost alternatives.
3. Repairs and Maintenance:
Ensure kitchens and washrooms are clean, functional, in good working order, and stocked with necessary supplies at all times.
Complete repair and maintenance tasks using personal skills and abilities, while minimizing costs through the appropriate use of volunteer labour and donated or repurposed materials.
Coordinate and monitor the work of external contractors for specialized repairs and maintenance.
Maintain organized mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and custodial storage areas, including equipment records, warranties, manuals, and drawings.
4. Facility Operations:
Work with appropriate church staff to support room set-up and tear-down for ministry activities and community rentals.
Oversee facility opening/closing procedures, as assigned.
Ensure emergency procedures and supplies are operational.
Requirements:
Ability to understand, operate, and maintain building systems, including HVAC, fire protection, and security systems.
Experience and/or accreditation in one or more of the following is considered an asset: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, roofing, or small drinking water systems.
Ability to safely operate power tools and maintenance equipment, including floor machines and snowblowers.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to organize work, prioritize multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
Ability to perform the physical demands of facility maintenance, including lifting, climbing ladders, and working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
A team player who interacts well with Lakeside staff and volunteers.
Ability to support Lakeside’s vision, mission, and values.
This is a 20-hour per week position, working a mix of days, evenings, and weekends.

Overview: To maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the Lakeside building, supporting ministry activities, community rentals, the on-site daycare, and all other building users.
Responsibilities:
1. General Cleaning:
Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors throughout the facility.
Dust furniture, fixtures, and other surfaces.
Clean windows, mirrors, baseboards, and window sills.
Empty garbage and recycling receptacles and replace liners.
Maintain the overall cleanliness and appearance of the building.
2. Washrooms and Kitchens:
Thoroughly clean and sanitize washrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and fixtures.
Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, including countertops, cabinets, sinks, and appliances.
Replenish washroom and kitchen supplies as needed.
3. Equipment and Safety:
Properly use, clean, and maintain custodial equipment and supplies.
Follow safe cleaning practices and use approved cleaning products.
Secure the building when assigned, ensuring doors are locked and lights are turned off as required.
Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or repairs needing attention to the Operations Director.
4. General Duties:
Work independently to complete assigned cleaning tasks to a high standard.
Assist with additional cleaning duties as required to support church ministries, community rentals, and special events.
Requirements:
Previous custodial or janitorial experience is considered an asset.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Reliable, trustworthy, and dependable.
Positive attitude and willingness to serve in a busy church environment.
Ability to perform the physical demands of the position, including standing, bending, lifting, and repetitive tasks.
Reliable transportation is required, as Lakeside is not located on a bus route.
Availability to work Tuesday evenings; additional hours are flexible.

This is a part-time position (20–25 hours per week). Tuesday evening availability is required; the remaining schedule is flexible.

The Rental Team plays an essential role in supporting the success of after-hours events and facility rentals at Lakeside. This position requires flexibility, adaptability, and a customer-oriented approach to ensure smooth event operations. The ideal candidate will be able to manage a variety of tasks and responsibilities, from setting up event spaces to assisting guests, ensuring building security, and maintaining cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Set-up and Tear-down: Assist with the set-up and tear-down of furniture, tables, chairs, and event equipment according to the specific needs of the event.
Facility Management: Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of public spaces, which may include cleaning washrooms, emptying trash, and ensuring high-touch surfaces are sanitized.
Guest Assistance: Provide friendly, professional assistance to event guests, including greeting and directing attendees, answering questions, and offering general support during the event.
Security: Open and close the building. Locking and securing the building at the conclusion of events involves a facility walk around, ensuring all doors and windows are properly closed and locked.
Problem-Solving: Address any issues or concerns that arise during events.
Other Duties as Assigned: Be prepared to take on other tasks as required, depending on the needs of the event or rental.
Qualifications:
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service.
Flexible and adaptable to changing demands.
Physical ability to lift, move, and set up furniture and event equipment as needed.
Experience in event set-up, customer service, or facility maintenance is a plus but not required.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and resolve any unexpected situations during events.
Must be dependable and punctual.
Must be available evenings and/or weekends.
Additional Requirements:
Will be required to complete a brief orientation and safety training.
Background check may be required.
Must have own transportation (or be able to get to Lakeside). We are not on a bus route.

Position Summary
The Family Ministries Coordinator position combines the responsibilities of both the Kids Coordinator and Youth Coordinator roles into one part-time position, providing operational, relational, and organizational support within Family Ministries.
This role focuses on creating welcoming, well-prepared ministry environments where children, youth, families, and volunteers feel supported, valued, and encouraged as they grow in their faith. The Coordinator works alongside volunteers, assists with ministry programming, prepares curriculum resources, and helps ensure Sunday and midweek ministries operate smoothly and consistently.
Key Responsibilities
1. Family Ministries Support
- Attend and actively participate in weekly Wednesday Youth gatherings, building meaningful relationships with youth and their families.
- Encourage, support, and collaborate with volunteers to create a safe, energetic, non-judgmental and Christ-centred environment where youth feel welcomed and confident inviting their friends.
- Together with the Family Ministries Pastor and Youth Leadership Team, plan and lead monthly youth social events, coordinate curriculum, and organize weekly lessons for Youth (Grades 6–12)
- Partner with the Lakeside Kids Team to help facilitate a smooth transition for kids entering Youth Ministry.
- Prepare ministry spaces by setting up rooms, supplies, AV equipment, volunteer materials, and team radios prior to programming.
- Support and encourage volunteers during programming by assisting with families, troubleshooting, and coverage needs, and help reset ministry spaces following programming.
- Communicate observations and ministry updates with the Family Ministries Pastor.
Adhere to the Lakeside Church policies, procedures, and safety guidelines related to ministry with children and youth.
- Coordinate craft and activity needs with volunteers.
- Ensure all ministry resources are prepared and available before programming.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to Family Ministries as identified.
(Curriculum selection, theological direction, and overall ministry planning remain the responsibility of the Family Ministries Pastor.)
Maintain organized Kids and Youth ministry storage areas.
Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs.
Help maintain safe, clean, welcoming ministry environments.
Identify and communicate equipment, facility, or ministry needs to the Family Ministries Pastor.

Adhere to Lakeside Church policies, procedures, and safety guidelines related to ministry with children and youth.
Expected Time Commitment: 10 hours per week
Hours will generally be allocated as follows:
3 hours – Wednesday Youth programming, including set-up, participation, clean-up, and building lock up.
3 hours (bi-weekly average) – Sunday Youth Ministry participation and youth/family connection.
4 hours (bi-weekly average) – Preparation, planning, Team connection.
The distribution of hours may vary from week to week depending on ministry events, youth needs, and scheduled Sunday programming, while maintaining a commitment of 10 hours per week.
Support and Oversight
The Youth Coordinator is supported by and accountable to the Family Ministries Pastor.
The Family Ministries Pastor retains responsibility for ministry oversight, administration, volunteer scheduling, budgeting, curriculum approval, parent communications, policy implementation, and strategic planning.
The Youth Coordinator is encouraged to bring questions, ideas, concerns, and requests for support to the Family Ministries Pastor at any time.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Lakeside Kids Coordinator provides hands-on operational support for Lakeside Kids Sunday environments. This role ensures rooms, materials, and volunteers are prepared and supported so that Sunday programming runs smoothly and consistently. This position focuses on execution, organization, and relational support.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Sunday Program Execution (3 hours/week)
Prepare rooms and materials prior to service
Ensure all rooms are fully set up and ready with bins, scripts, AV equipment
Distribute and manage radios for team communication
Support volunteers during programming (troubleshooting, transitions, coverage gaps)
Provide encouragement to volunteers
Assist with room transitions between groups as needed
- Oversee clean-up and reset of all spaces after the service
- Provide quick debrief notes or observations to Family Ministries Pastor
2. Curriculum Preparation & Materials (2 hours/week)
Print and organize curriculum for all age groups
Select craft and activity material needs for volunteers to prepare
Assemble weekly supply bins for classrooms in collaboration with volunteers
Ensure materials are ready for volunteer use on Sunday
- Support basic administrative coordination for kids ministry
3. Storage Organization (1 hour/week)
Oversee kids ministry storage areas (kitchenette and Soul Station)
Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs
Maintain clean, safe, and welcoming environments
Identify and communicate any concerns, needs, or gaps to the Family Ministries Pastor
