Frequently Asked Questions

Lakeside Youth is a place where students in Grades 6-12 come to learn more about Jesus, make friends, and have fun. This isn’t school, or something they have to do, rather, we provide a safe and inclusive space for students to ask questions, have important conversations with peers and trusted leaders, and learn more about themselves, their faith, and the world around them.

Not at all. We know that everyone is on their own journey, and the teen years are some of the most difficult and uncomfortable times as students wrestle with who they are and how they fit into the world around them. We share the message of Jesus every week, and you’re free to ask questions, or just listen.

We meet most Wednesdays from 7-8:30pm at Lakeside Church (7654 Conservation Road) throughout the school year. Keep an eye on our website for upcoming youth nights and events. To receive reminders and details about cancellations/location changes, or other news right to your phone, text the word YOUTH to 226-910-1120.

Absolutely! Your friends – whether they attend Lakeside or not – are welcome any time.

You don’t need to register for each youth night, however, if you plan to come regularly (and we hope you do), this is the form that will need to be filled out by a parent/guardian.

Great question! We hang out, talk, play games, and of course, we have snacks!

Meet Our Youth Coordinator

Hi. I'm Hannah Whitelaw. I am thrilled to serve as Lakeside's Youth Coordinator! Having attended Lakeside for the last four years and been involved with youth ministry for the past three, this felt like a natural next step for me. I have a genuine passion for walking alongside young people as they navigate life, faith and relationships. My heart is to create a fun and welcoming environment where youth feel at home, where they are encouraged to fully be themselves and are inspired to grow in their walk with God. I am eager to welcome students to our program this year and look forward to all that God has in store for this amazing community - join us!

When not serving our youth, my husband Jay and I like to spend time outdoors at our cottage in Muskoka, watch our son Jackson play hockey and give some extra attention to our dog Ellie.
